Collect and Use Greywater in Your Home
There are a range of methods of collecting and using greywater in your home. The simplest methods of doing this involves a simple diverter valve attached to the waste pipe of a washing machine, bath or shower. The Waste Water Diverter allows you to attach a hose to direct your waste water onto a garden bed or lawn. The Waste Water Diverter Valve is a better quality diverter that can be connected to a fixed garden irrigation line.
If it is difficult to fit these type of valves then a pumped sytem may be a better option.

Is my garden suitable for greywater?

AWWS Grey Water Systems
AWWS has a range of active (pump powered) greywater systems. They are flexible, simple, reliable, easy to use and maintain, and even come with a self cleaning option. Perfect for both retrofitting and for building in from scratch. There are 4 main products in the AWWS range.
Greyflow US & Greyflow US1 above ground systems

These systems are perfect for retrofitting when the greywater plumbing lines lie above ground.
The US 1 comes enclosed in a PE-Wood box whereas the US comes without.
Greyflow PS underground system
Perfect for underground plumbing of any depth. If you're building a new house this is the ideal system to have plumbed in before you lay your slab. Ask about the builders kit if you're building from scratch!
Greyflow OO pit system
Unlike other pit greywater systems, the Greyflow OO does not have a storage tank.
Eco Care Greywater System
If it is difficult to fit these type of valves then a pumped sytem may be a better option. The Eco Care System can collect all the grey water from the laundry and bathroom and pump it to the garden. If you want to use the grey water to flush your toilet you will need to use a more sophisticated system such as the Wattworks.

Nylex Greywater Diverta

The Nylex Greywater Diverta is easy to use and requires minimal maintenance. The system allows you to reuse grey water from your garden, thus helping to reduce the strain on our already depleted water catchments. Operating on the principles of gravity instead of a pump or alternative energy sources once the system is installed there are no operational costs, saving you money and helping to conserve precious water.
Wattworks Automatic Water Recycler System
Save precious water and money with the Wattworks Automatic Water Recycler System. This system allows you to effectively reclaim your bath and shower water, within the supplied Storage Tank. This water, being the cleanest greywater, is then recycled through the cistern to flush your toilet system on demand. All excess water in the tank is automatically released daily to the sewer/septic or made available for re-use in the garden.
Bathtub & Laundry Greywater Pump
A typical bath holds over 200 litres of water, this water can be saved with the Bathtub - Laundry Greywater Pump. Drains an average bath or laundry trough in around 10 minutes. Easy to use, no plumbing required and easy to clean. Also available with a Solar Panel.

Bokashi Bucket
The Bokashi Bucket uses a unique recycling system with bokashi to ferment food waste inside a sealed container. Becuse the system is sealed there is no problem with rodents or insects. There is also no odour. Place the food waste in a garden to break down into rich humus within a matter of days, releasing nutrients to the soil.
Unlike composting and worm farming, there is no food waste you cannot put in theBokashi Bucket system, which treats paper, citrus, onions, dairy, even meat! Because the system is small and compact it is ideal for people in units, or small homes with little room in the garden.
Designed to sit inside the kitchen - either on a bench, or under the sink - you simply add your kitchen food waste to the Bokashi Bucket as you produce it. Each time waste is added, you add a small amount of bokashi, then reseal the lid.

The Reln Compost Bin
Creating your own compost will ensure that the life of your garden is a continuous cycle. Using the Reln Compost Bin’s unique aerated design, along with the full instruction manual supplied with each bin, you will quickly produce sweet smelling compost and will be helping your environment in the process.
The compost will enrich your soil, providing nutrition for plants, flowers, vegetables and fruit trees. It also can be used as a surface mulch to prevent moisture loss.
Compost Tumbler
The easy way to turn green waste such as lawn clippings, garden refuse and organic kitchen waste into garden compost in just 14 days. Keeps out rats, mice, cockroaches and other undesirables who may want to feed on your compost.
Easy to mix to and manage, (no difficult turning or mixing). When the compost is ready the tumbler is designed to be tipped over and wheeled around the garden for unloading.
Worm Farms
The Can-O-Worms is an odourless, user friendly system that allows anyone to participate in recycling. Whether you live in an apartment or have a backyard, you can provide organic fertiliser for indoor plants and your garden. For keen fishermen the unit will breed up to 20,000 bait worms which are easily removed from the top! Its patented concept was awarded an Australian Design Award.
Harvesting of castings (worm poo) is easy because the worms eat their way up leaving their rich castings behind which are readily removed, free of worms. Liquid fertiliser is also produced and dispensed through a tap. The Can-O-Worms is fly and pest proof and stands on five sturdy legs. It is a fun and educational exercise the whole family can participate in. It is made here in Australia by an Australian company from 100% recycled plastic.
